Patchwork Spring Craft Show 2012

I am super excited to be doing Patchwork Spring show in Santa Ana May 27th 2012 ! See you there!

Today started off a little slow,I was feeling super tired .I figured it's Sunday I'll sleep in. Oh no my daughter had other plans for me . She was up and wanted me up too! I said I was getting up and ended up going back to sleep another hour =) Felt goood! I finally managed to drag my bones out of bed and we were off for a thrifting adventure.I still don't know why she gives me such a hard time with my thrifting obsession.She always and  I do mean ALWAYS manages to score something. Well here it is a nice haul if I do say so myself. =) Happy Sunday...

Short but sweet Spring break .......

This year for spring break I had to work.Which actually turned out better for me as I always seem to get behind financially. First all week we got out of work at 3pm which was awwesome! But I also requested Thursday and Friday off.I had wanted to do some fun things with my daughter since she did get the entire week off.So Thursday was Mother daughter day. First we went and did a little craft store shopping then we stopped off at the dollar tree and got her friend Birthday balloons. By this time we were pretty hungry so we stopped at one of the best burgar places in Orange County Fuji's teriyaki.We preordered it and picked it up.Its always very busy there.So we proceeded to our library and had a little car picnic in the park.The food was delicious!

 After lunch we did a little thriftstore shopping.Didn't have much luck there.Oh well ........... Friday was a different story we had big plans to see the final weekend of the Star Wars exhibit At the Discovery Science Center S.A .I guess everyone else in town had the exact same idea at the exact same time. =( . We wanted to go around 11:30 am so we arrived to a mob scene.It was pouring rain, thundering though that didn't deter anyone from going. Needless to say we DID NOT  get in ! So we drove all the way back home, my girl was crushed ! I couldn't let that happen, we are on Spring break after all ! So I got on-line and somehow managed to get us tickets for 5pm. Back in the car ! lets try this one more time.

Eventually we did get in. It was a great day !

April Already!

I'm so excited to finally be able to blog again. My computer has been on the blink now for about three months.I try as much as possible to document all of our little adventures.Its one of those things I truely enjoy, being able to look back at the past.I still can't believe my baby girl has grown into a young adult,I See how much I've grown as an artist.I can Remember all the good and not so good ideas I've had.I just love to see pictures and add my stories to them. Last weekend was Easter and I had wanted to do so much.Though as usual there were many things to be done and all was pretty much done in a rush.We had all our laundry to get done that morning and then we had to get ready for our annual Easter Brunch at Knotts Berry farm.I mostly look forward to eating but this year I was a bit apprehensive as I had'nt seen the rest of our family in a little over a year.We all used to be very close.Though it seems over the last couple of years we have grown distant.Which makes me very sad at times.Anyway I was a little worried to say the least.Turned out we were the first family to arrive.Slowly the rest of the family started to show

.Everyone seemed to be in good spirits so I started to feel a bit more at ease, Breakfast was great! Very filling as usual a little too filling but still good.After we ate we all headed into the park together ,got on a few rides and spent way too much money.All in all I worried for nothing. Turned out to be a very beautiful and relaxing Easter Sunday.Fun was had by all. =)

Rainy Saturday ? I don't think so!

Well this morning started off cold and rainy,just like the weather reporters had predicted . I couldn't wait to sleep in and listen to the drops fall outside my window.I was going to wear my warm sweater and thick socks and just sit back and be all cozy all Saturday long.What really ended up happening is I woke up way too early .Then I got it stuck in my head that the estate sale I had read about the night before was going to be Amazing!.So I got up ,got my sister up and we were off to find treasures.We found the sale with no problem it looked promising.It wasn't! We found absolutely nothing. ;( I hate when I build these things up and then feel so disappointed.Ok so I thought oh well I'll go home snuggle under my blankie and read a good magazine and listen to the rain.But NO that too came to a screeching halt.The clouds all cleared ,the sun came out and I was actually hot and had to take off my sweater. Yay winter in Orange County!



I made these delicious apple cinnamon scones from the Feb. issue of Martha Stewart living magazine.


We did a little mother ,daughter thrifting shopping.It turned out pretty profitable for my daughter, usually does!Though still for some reason isn't into it nearly as much as me.She scored two records and this awesome dress I love the little house print !So today didn't turn out so terrible after all. =)

Beautifully grey.......

Today is a holiday so I have the day off !!! And it's a little chilly and grey out and I love it! Winter began a while ago but we really haven't seen too much of it.Most days at work I wear only a light cardigan and I'm sweating by mid day. So it's really nice to be able to relax and go thrifting or stay in a make some nice warm soup.I feel super inspired to clear a space on the work table and sew something up.I'm actually going to put on a scarf to go out.Yay excited!

working on resolutions part 1

This was the year I was going to get this blog off the ground!This was the year I was going to become a better blogger.Take better pictures have really interesting features.Then what happens, my computer crashes and I can't even sign on. Much less write anything.My computer seems to have magically mended itself. So here I am trying to get a post in before it dies.(hopefully not fingers crossed!This is a super late New Year's Eve post in pictures.But here it is....Its been our tradition to pretty much just stay home on this night to celebrate with our family.Its kinda dangerous out and every place to go is super expensive and anyway isnt't it the point to be with the ones you love and want to share your hopes and dreams for the new year. Right? I mean thats the way I feel.We had a great time!Good food,Good drink and the ones we love all cozy and warm in one package.So I hope this is the first of many new posts this year.I hope its a great one!!!
